Trouble in the bank. (Mac/Anyone)

I got out as well and walked up to the small restaurant, holding the door for the two of them, just like I was taught to do. I knew it was old fashioned, but I didn't care.

Katrina smiled a little carrying Star. "Thanks."

"You're welcome." I said and followed them inside.

Star looked Mac with a sad face.

"What's up, sweet girl?" I called Star on her sad face.

Star reached for him. Katrina sighed handed Mac Star.

I took her and held her close, looking at Katrina with a slightly worried glance.

Katrina looked away.
Star laid her head on Mac.

I sighed a little, holding the little girl close. She's seen more than she should have, but she was a brave little girl, just like her mother, but it was Katrina who I was worried about.
The waiter came and got us a table and the menu.

Katrina was spacing out again.

Star got a high chair, crayons and something to color and I looked at Katrina.
"What's up, Katrina?" I asked now really getting worried.

Katrina looked at him. "Just thinking."
Star started coloring.

I nodded, not really satisfied with that reply but for now it had to do.
"So what do ma girls want to eat?" I asked them, changing the topic for now.

Star shrugged.
Katrina shook her head. "I'm not hungry."

I sighed now getting a little frustrated.

Star kept coloring.
Katrina looked at Mac knowing he was getting a little upset.

"At least for her?" I gently begged Katrina, glancing at Star.

Katrina looked at him with tears in her eyes and got up and walked in the bathroom.

I sighed and looked at Star. I've never seen Katrina like this, but knew that since she didn't want to talk about it in front of her daughter I just had to wait and well... watch and that was getting hard.
"So... you like Maccaroni with cheese?" I asked Star.

Star nodded sadly.
Katrina washed her face.

I gently stroke the small girls cheek and give her a small smile.
"Mommy's going to be okay." I told her quietly.
When the waiter came again, I gave the order and waited for Katrina to return, while watching Star coloring the page. She was quite good at it.

Star kept coloring.
Katrina came back and sat down.

I looked at Katrina in a questioning way.

"Don't Mac." Katrina said knew he wanted to start asking questions.

I sighed, but nod.
