family secret (Haylen)

I walked up to them, standing next to dad, who also watched them.
"I'm sorry.... I was young and... alone and..." she started but then stopped, obviously not sure how to explain.

Thomas could tell that his mom was having a hard time in explaining, "What is it mom?" he asked gently

"I feel embarrassed for leaving you like that.... I just... wanted you to have a good life." she explained.

Thomas nodded slowly, "How did you meet my father?" he asked

"He... uh, was on a trip and we met in a club... I was out with friends he was looking for party." she replied and it was clear that she wasn't really happy about it.

Thomas saw it and reached out to his mom

She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him, holding her son close to her.
I watched, being happy for him.

Thomas returned the embrace that his mother gave him, "I never thought I see you"

"I'm glad you found you and your dad." she whispered into his ear and gently kissed his cheek.

Thomas smiled a bit, "I better get you to the hospital" he replied

She nodded.
"You should take care of your sister...."

Thomas nodded, "I will after I get you to the hospital." he replied

She looked at him and then nodded slightly. I was already with dad, waiting.

Thomas pulled back, then got her to the ambulance and rode with her to the hospital

they left the same time as me and our father and reached the hospital at the same time. I had already given my mother a call and she was on her way, too.

Thomas held Enya's hand during the ride

She smiled a little.
Once at the hospital they got Ryan to the ER and I waited in the waiting area.

Enya was in other room, Thomas walked back to the waiting area and saw Haylen

I saw him coming and walked up to him.

I stopped when I reached him, not sure what to do actually. But I was just glad it turned out well so far.

Thomas sighed a bit, "They are going to be okay" he said to her

"I know." I said, looking at him and then down with a sigh, still trying to stay the strong person I normally was.

Thomas sat down and sighed, "I was never told about her" he said, meaning his mom

I sat down next to him, gently resting my hand on his back.
"They probably didn't know much about her, either." I replied in a gentle tone.
