family secret (Haylen)

Thomas was called to the scene of a rather violent kidnapping, once inside, he saw that the place was a mess and blood was everywhere, Thomas set his kit down and gloved up, then started to process, at the same time, he did not know that this case would change what he knew about his past and that Haylen was connected to it as well, Thomas started in the front room and worked his way back to the kitchen

I got to the scene a few minutes later, being late because I got stuck in traffic. I didn't know the place and little did I know that the kidnapped man was my dad and neither did I know what we would find out.
As I reached the appartment I looked around, setting my kit down and put my gloves on, my hair put into a pony tail.
"Such a mess for a kidnapping. Obviously the victim didn't follow willingly." I commented and helped Thomas.

Thomas nodded, "Aye" he replied while processing the kitchen, "Who ever this was, he went down fighting." he added

I nodded in reply and got busy taking pictures and samples.
"And he spilled his attackers blood as well I assume, with that amount around here." I said, taking pictures of a pattern I found on the kitchen isle. On the floor next to it I found a pocket knife.
"Found a pocket knife with blood on it." I said as I bagged it.

Thomas looked over, then back at the kitchen, "More blood by the back door." he replied

"Seems like the victim was dragged out there, from what it looks like." I replied, looking up.

"Aye" Thomas replied, "And left a hand print" he added, Thomas photographed, then swabbed it

I sighed a little and continued, but found nothing else where I was.
"Well... everything done?" I asked, looking around once I was done.

Thomas looked at Haylen, "I was going to get the study next." he replied

"Well, I'm all done here... why not share the study?" I suggested.

Thomas thought for a moment, then nodded, "Its down the hall and on the right." he replied

I nodded and made my way down. "Looks almost neatly clean." I commented as I walked into the room.

Thomas followed her in, "Aye" he replied, Thomas walked over to the desk, seeing the papers there

"Little too clean if you ask me." I said and looked around a little more, taking a closer look on the shelf.

Thomas looked back at Haylen, then nodded, "Indeed" he replied

I looked around, but actually found nothing that caught my eye.
"Anything caught your eye?" I asked a while later.

Thomas was about to reply when he saw the photograph, "Just this" he replied

"What is it?" I asked walking up to him, seeing the photo.

Thomas looked at it, "The victim's family" he replied

I was about to reply something when I took a closer look at the picture and looked up with a frown.

Thomas looked at her, "What is it?" he asked

"I don't really know what to think about it right now." I replied quietly. The photo looked familiar, but this place didn't.

Thomas watched her, then looked at the photo

I watched him and was about to tell him something when I got a call. Looking at the display I frowned a little.
"Be right back." I said walking into the corridor and talked to my mother who called me. What she told me wasn't to my liking. I told her to come to the lab and I'll be there as soon as I could. My frown was still on my face when I walked back up to Thomas.

Thomas saw the look on her face, knowing it was serious, "What is it?" he asked
