A new family. (The Kelly's/Mac)

I sigh. "Some of them are deserved." I say to Mac.

Thomas looked at Katrina when she said that, "No you didn't" he said gently

I shank my head. "You don't know that. You don't know what happened."

"You know what I think about men hitting women, Katrina. Maybe some were deserved, but not the way it happened." I say in a gentle tone.

i sat back and look at Mac. "There's nothing we can do thought I have four more years I can deal with it for that long."

I thought about another possiblity, but I wasn't sure if she even wanted that. I knew she could get into a lot of trouble at times. Though she probably was right.

"You could move out" Thomas said to her off the cuff

"Mr. Kelly I'm fourteen I can't move out." I say. "The only thing I can think of is run away, but I don't want to."

Thomas looked at her, "What if you ran away and a family you knew took you in?" he said in a hypothetical manor

I looked up at Thomas when he said that. It was only hypothetical, but I knew what he was going to suggest. So I just gave him a questioning look and waited for Katrina's reaction.

Thomas looked at Mac, seeing the look on his face, then back at Katrina, waiting for her reply to his question

"Who would want to do that?" I ask yea I would love that but I'm sure no one would want me.

I would have said that I'd do that, but I knew Thomas had something else in mind.

"My family and I would take you in." Thomas said to Katrina

"What?" I say totally shocked.

Thomas watched Katrina, "My family and I would take you in." he replied

I just look to Mac without saying a word.

Thomas looked at Katrina, then at Mac, waiting for what would be said next

I look down, thinking for a moment.

"Well... that is to be cleared between you two. I won't say anything against it." I finally say. If Katrina wanted to do that and Thomas and his family was okay with having her at their place, too, it was probably the best way to do it, though she could also live with me, but at his place she had Sara to talk to and always someone around.

Thomas nodded a bit, then looked at Katrina after Mac spoke up to them

I'm lost for words right now and evenly look up at him. "Is your wife going to have a problem with me moving in?"

"No she won't" Thomas replied, "I talked to her on the way over here about you moving in with us." he added

I smile at him. "Thank you,"

"Your welcome Katrina" Thomas replied

I had a small smile on my lips. At least she had a safe place to stay at.
