Beat to hell. (Thomas/Mac)

"Well, maybe I shouldn't have talked to him..." I said quietly, knowing that it probably hadn't been a good idea.

"Mac, its not your fault" Thomas said to him, "If he comes back, we will be ready." he added

I nodded but wasn't really convinced that he didn't came to see Katrina because of me.
"I'm always prepared for trouble from his part. Know him way too long, though he wasn't always like that."

"What was he like before?" Thomas asked

"He was pretty much like me. Though always caring about his family and he'd never dare to touch Katrina or his wife." I said, remembering a time when Katrina was little. "That was before he lost his job and started drinking. There are different versions as to why he kept drinking and why... well, anyways, I spend a lot of time with Katrina when he started his drinking..."

Thomas listened to Mac, then nodded when he finished, "What can we do to keep him from hurting Katrina?" he asked

"Keep her away from him and him away from her." I replied and shrugged. "I don't know, really. That's just what I think is the only thing to do. I was hoping he's got out of this someday, but obviously he's not."

"Aye" Thomas replied, none of them knew how soon they would have a run in with Katrina's father again

"Actually she wanted to talk to you, but I guess seeing him here ruined that for now..." I said, not knowing what Bill had up his sleeve.

"Aye" Thomas replied, at the same time, Bill started shouting at the house, it was clear that he was drunk

I just sighed heavily.

Thomas walked over and looked around the window, "Good grief" he said outloud

I got up and look out the window and sigh walking down the stairs. "I'm so sick of this crap."

Thomas looked back, "Your not the only one" he replied

I go to the door ready to go out there and try to finish this.

Thomas stopped her, "Katrina, your not going out there alone." he said

I look at him. "if one of you go it well be worse." I say.

"Remember what he did to you Katrina, you think he'll just talk to you and leave?" I pipe up with concern.

Thomas nodded in agreement to Mac's statement

"I'm sick of running from him guys." I say looking at them.

"I know you are, Katrina, but I don't think you're in a condition to face him. You want to gove him that kind of triumph?" I asked her directly.

I sigh. "Fine." I pull out my phone and call someone.

I slightly shake my head and watch her, before looking at Thomas.

Thomas looked at Mac after Katrina got her phone out

I talk for a second then hang up,
