NYPD Major's Ball [everyone]

"I think I wasn't dancing ever since Claire died. I went with her a few times..." I say and look around. "Want to stop and get back to it later?"

"Yea good idea, let's go get some drinks" I say with a smile not really wanting to continue on the dance talk now Claire is in it as well. I just don't think it's the time to talk about that, I want Mac to have a little bit fun

I know that most people think it always saddens the mood to even mention Claire, but well, she was my wife and now died and this was just a moment I remembered. Sure it's sad that she's not around, but I always have happy memories that remind me of the good person she was and I can talk about her without falling back into the sadness and forget about fun, but mostly people think like that, so I just lead Stella off the dance floor and say nothing.

"The Major's ball isn't that bad this year, the decorations actually look good, let's hope the drinks are too. We really have to go the next time, without thinking it'll be hell" I smile as we walk off the dance floor

"We haven't heard the speeches yet, Stella... and who knows what our lovely friend Dunbrook has to say this year." I say a little sceptical.

"I don't care about the speeches this year Mac, I've got great company" I quote Mac's words and smile at him

"Hello Stella" Shannon said to her, smiling a bit as her and Thomas walked into the ballroom with Mac and Stella as they joked around, "I'll say this: Thomas is a better dancer then Sinclair." she said while smirking

"I bet he is." I said and smiled a little. I couldn't really imagine my boss being a good dancer... well him dancing at all. But maybe?

Shannon giggled in reply to Mac's comment

"Well I think he can dance and I think he's very nice in private as well" I say with a grin. Even the worst people manage to surprise me with their dancing skills.

"You surprise me, Stella. Though he can be quite okay." I said to her.

"we just have to give him a chance, he's just doing his job" just doing his job? he's being an ass even if we do everything like we should.

"Oh yeah..." I comment, but say nothing further.

I shake my head with a smile

Shannon smiled, then walked into the ballroom with Thomas, greeting a few people that they knew

"Want to go back in and see who else is here?" I asked Stella as I watched Shannon and Thomas go inside the main ball room.

"sounds like a good idea to me, will we dance some more later too?" I ask with a big smile

"If you desire so." I say and nod, before offering my arm for her to take.

I take his arm and look at him "yes i really want to"

"Then I don't mind, either." I say as we walk back into the main ball room.

"you like dancing with me?" I ask with a smile. Hoping he would say yes

"Actually very much." I confess with a warm smile.
It was much better to be here with her than all alone. Though I knew she'd come it still was great she asked me to join her.

"I'm glad to hear that Mac, really" I smile. Haven't danced with anyone for a long and dancing with Mac is just amazing

I blush a little but smile.
"You're an amazing dancer, Stella." I tell her in truth.

"Thanks, so are you Mac" now its my turn to blush
