NYPD Major's Ball [everyone]

It was one of those days that I mostly ignore or try to avoid, but today I had no choice. It was the Major's ball, where all those politicians came to and also a lot of people from the NYPD, next to Chief Sinclair to talk about the latest politics and changes, excepting donations, mostly from my lovely friend Robert Dunbrook and then just eat, have fun, talk and enjoy a dance with a nice woman, if you find or have someone to dance with.
I hate those events. I never felt comfortable around all those politicians and important people, nor did I really like crowds.
But this time I couldn't bail. So here I am, in the front of the building, pretending to wait for someone just so I won't have to go inside yet. Of course, this was a ball, so I was dressed in a tux.
Slowy it starts to get cold outside, but I just don't want to go in alone, so I just wait for someone I know.

Of course I went alone to the Major's ball, why would I take someone with me? I'll find someone to dance with I guess. Of course NYPD people asked me if I wanted to come to the ball with them, but I just couldn't say yes to them. I would probably feel a bit awkward if I had to hold their arm, no I'd rather go alone.

So there I go on my own, in a cab, with my dress and high heels, but yet very elegant heels. The cab stops and I see Mac standing outside, is he waiting for someone? hmm maybe, but who? I pay the cab and get out. I walk up to Mac who looks a bit well I don't know maybe a bit lonely at the moment?

"Hey Mac, why don't you go inside?" I ask while and plant a kiss on his cheek and wonder why he's standing outside

"Stella." I greet her with warm smile. Wow, she really looks great and actually I found myself being glad she came alone.
"You know how much I love those events... just didn't want to get in there all alone. Might be caught by our friend Dunbrook and his creepy comments..." I say with a small smirk.
"You look pretty amazing, by the way."

"Thanks, you look pretty great yourself" I smile and still I'm not very sure if he's waiting for someone "So you are waiting for someone?" I dare to ask and look around to see if there is anyone walking to Mac, but I only see some couples coming this way. "oh we can handle our lovely friend Dunbrook, don't worry about him" I say with a big smile

"Thanks. I was just pretending to wait for someone... you know, I needed an excuse. We can go together if you want to." I offer and smile a little shy.

"I wasn't planning on going with someone but now YOU ask I can't say no" I say with a smile and link my arm with yours "lets go"

at the same time, Shannon arrived with Thomas, apart from events with the Emerald Society, they tried to avoid coming to things like this, but they both decided to go to this, it was something different and they hoped that they would see people they knew, as they walked in, Shannon saw Stella and Mac, "Stella, Mac!" she called out after Thomas helped her remove the wrap she had around her shoulders

I turned around when I heard Shannon calling our names and greeted both of them with a warm smile, as I lead Stella back to them.
"Hey. Glad to see you two here." I said in a light tone. "You look great Shannon."

"hey Shannon and Thomas I'm glad You both are here! Now the show can get started!" I smile and look around the 'ballroom' "oh there is sinclair!" I say to you all "you think his wife minds if I dance with him?" I joke

I look at you with a somewhat surprised expression.
"You wanna dance with him? Did I miss something?"

"I think he's a good dancer and I love dancing so he would be a perfect dance partner" I smile "you sound a bit jealous" i tease

"Huh? I just get the feeling you don't think that your best friend actually can dance... That's all." I say quietly.

"I do think you can dance, just not sure if you dare to do that right here with all those people you know and our bosses here you know" I challenge with a big smile

"What do I care about him when I have such an amazing company?" I ask and smile.

"I don't know, show me Taylor!" I laugh

I turn around to face you, offering my hand for you to take it.
"May I have this dance, Ms. Bonasera?" I ask formally and smile.

"Of course you can sir" I reply and lay my hand in yours. I know how he hates to be called sir but I just had to

I smile at the sir and lead her to the dancefloor.

"Don't you dare to ruin my heels" I whisper and we walk to the dance floor

"I won't. Taylor family tradition: learn how to dance." I whisper back and get us in dancing position, gently leading her as we dance to the music and I don't even brush her heels.

"you really can dance, I love that" I smile as we dance to the music

"I won't say 'I told you so' even though I want to." I say and smile.

"I never said you couldn't dance" I smile back at you as I see other people join us on the dance floor

"I see, we're inspiring, Stella." I say and smile. "Actually it's been while since I was out for dancing, you know. But never lost it's power to make me enjoy it."

"Same here, I actually only dance on these 'lovely' Major's ball and well at home on my own" I say with a smile " we indeed inspired others to dance, it's so crowdy right now"
