spending time with his niece (Haylen)

Lilyana looked up at him, trying hard not to giggle.
"You and nervous?" she asked.

Thomas nodded, "Aye" he replied, "No matter hard you train, the fear of the unknown is always there."

Lilyana giggled a little.
"Hard to imagine you being nervous." she said. "But I was nervous the first time I went camping with the scouts as well."

Thomas nodded, "I do get nervous, the key is to not let it show." he told her

Lilyana nodded. "But who know you well, would know, right?" she asked.

"Aye" Thomas replied

"Would mommy know?" she asked curiously. From the moment she met Thomas and asked him about Haylen she knew they were close friends.

"Yes she would" Thomas replied

Lilyana smiled a little. "Well, I wouldn't." she said.

Thomas smiled a bit, "Thank you lass" he replied

"What are you like, when you're nervous, uncle Thomas?" she asked, being the curious girl.

"My hands would start to sweat a bit." Thomas replied

"That's nothing I could observe, is it?" she said, smiling a bit.

"Aye" Thomas replied, nodding a bit

Lilyana smiled and then looked into the fire, being done with her dinner.

Thomas soon finished up, then disposed of the paper plate by tossing it into the fire

Lilyana smiled a bit, keeping hers for later. "You're cool." she said.

Thomas looked at her, "Thank you lass" he replied

"Most welcome." she said and then decided to toss her plate into the fire as well, her eyes sparkling in the light.

Thomas watched her as she did, "You mom told me that a lad has taken interest in you."

Lilyana looked at him and frowned a little.
"Squealer." she said playfully.

Thomas smiled a bit, "He a good lad?" he asked

"He seems to be." Lilyana said carefully.

Thomas watched her, "But your not sure?" he asked

Lilyana looked at Thomas. "I'm just careful." she said seriously.
