Don't mess with Star! (Mac)

Kat shook her head. "I didn't need you to bail me out Mac. She was really glad he did, but she was still to mad to say thanks.

"Maybe you don't need me for that, but Star needs her mother." I replied. "And I don't turn my back on family, remember?"

That just got her more angry. "Can you please get these off of me?" She asked holding out her hands.

I looked at her for a moment, before getting the key out of my pocket.
"I can." I reply calmly and uncuff her.

As soon as he uncuffed her she got up.

I got up as well and let her leave. I love you, too.... I thoughts with a sigh.

She didn't got far get outside and sat down trying to think. She knew Mac was only trying to help, but she was the type not to let someone hurt her baby without a fight.

I had been following her in some distance and was now watching her from the door, not wanting to seem spying on her. But I just worried. I definitely understood her actions, but she should have thought before she went to see that guy.

She rubbed her head not sure what to do, she hated Mac being mad at her, but she wasn't going to back down on this.

I was just the same about this. I didn't like it at all, when we were arguing, but I just didn't know how to take this now.

After awhile she got up and started walking home.

I sighed but let her go. For now there was nothing I could do, but to let things rest for a moment and wait, so things would clear up a little.

After a couple days Kat hadn't talked to Mac, she wasn't sure he waited to talk to her so she just left it alone.

I was kinda worried when she didn't call and I haven't heard of her in a few days. So I decided to call her and see how she was doing.

She was just leaving school when Mac called, when she seen it was him she sighed a little and answered. "Hello."

"Hey." I replied in my calm tone. "just wanted to see how you're holdin' up. Haven't heard from you in a while."

She sighed again a little. "I'm fine, just been busy." Okay that was a lie, but she really wasn't sure what else to say.

"'kay." I replied, also not sure what else to say.

Kat bit her lip walking in to the day care to get Star. "Hey I umm... I got to get Star can I call you later day?"

"Alright, Bye." With that she hung up and got Star.

I put my phone back into pocket and sit down in my chair, sighing.

Two days later. Katrina hadn't called Mac back. She had no idea what to say to him so she was going to wait. After picking up star for daycare they started walking home.

I was at my place having a day off and thought about what to do now. Thought she said she would, Katrina hadn't called back. Probably busy....

Katrina was holding Star's hand as they walked past Mac's place on their way home. She felt a little bad not calling him, but she was lost on what to say.
