Don't mess with Star! (Mac)

Katrina was at school on her lunch break when she got a call from Star's day care telling her Starlight was missing. Katrina ran out of the school calling Mac.

I was just on my way to my own lunch break when my buzzed to life.
"Kat? What up?" I asked as I answered my phone. Seeing her name on the display at a time she usually was at school told me something must have happened.

"Star's daycare just called me. They can't find her anywhere." she said as she got there since it wasn't far from the school it didn't take her long.

"Alright, am on my way." I said, getting into the car.

"Thanks." she said hanging up and going in.

I hung up and made my way over. Thankfully traffic wasn't as bad today, so it took me only five minutes to get there. I parked the car, got out and locked it and then walked into the daycare.

Katrina was talking with the teacher.

I saw them and walked over, but kept a respectful distance as they talked.

Katrina was getting pissed and started to walk away.

"Kat!" I called out, walking up to her.

She turned with a pissed on look om her face. "Stupid bitch don't know shit." She said glaring at the teacher.

I knew she was pissed.
"Calm down, okay. We will find her." I said in a calm tone.

She shook her head. "I hope so."

"What could she tell you?" I asked, mentioning the teacher.

She laughed a bit. "Star was there one minute then gone."

I sighed. I knew the little girl was curious, but she'd never just up and run away.
"I have a bad feeling about it. She would never just up and run away." I said quietly, thinking about what could have happened.

"She's never once just got up and ran. I swear if someone took her...." She stopped closing her eyes.

"Well, it pretty much looks like it. Have you any idea who could take her?" I asked, knowing the topic was difficult.

She shook her head. "No. Anyone that knows me knows not to mess with Star,"

I looked at her and thought for a moment.
"Well, I doubt she'd go with anyone than us, willingly." I said to her. "Did someone contact you lately, asking questions about her, anything?"

"No." She said rubbing her head.

"Okay." I said with a small sigh and then walk up to the teacher, my badge obviously tagged to my belt.

The teacher looked at him.
Katrina followed Mac.

"I'd like to ask a few questions." I said firmly, treating this like it was an official case, which it actually was.

The teacher nodded and looked at Katrina.
