I Dance with Cinderella (Mac)

I laugh. "I'm so damn good." I smirk.

I smirked at her.
"You just know me too well, you know that?" I said, shaking my head.

I roll my eyes. "Oh whatever old man."

"Yeah, I get it..." I smiled.

"You get what?" I ask him with a little smile.

"I'm old." I reply, looking at her with a smirk.

I roll my eyes. "I was joking guys in the late 40's are not old." I say to him.

I smile at her.
"It's nice to hear that from you." I said.

I smiled and kiss his cheek. "I'm just joking when I say things like that."

"It's always good to know." I reply and smile a little.

My smile faded a little as I start to remember the first time when I told Mac my dad was hurting me.

I noticed her smile fading and looked at her in a questioning way.
"What's up?"

I shank my head at him not sure if I wanted to talk about this.

I get it and don't ask further, but what I didn't know was that I was now remembering the same thing she was thinking about just seconds before.

Flashback
Little Eight year old Katrina was at Mac's yet again. She wasn't happy today for some reason.

Mac noticed that and was a little worried. So when she was in the living room, coloring something he sat down next her to her.
"What are you so sad about, sweetie?" he asked her gently.

She shook her head, a little scared to tell him. She looked at him for a second then when back to coloring Cinderella's dress.

Mac could tell she was scared about something and that got him thinking.
"You know you can tell me, right? What you tell me, stays with me, ok?" he tried again.

She looked up at him teary eyed. "Daddy punished me." She said.

Mac made a súrprised face. "What did he do?"

She shook her head. "He told me not to tell."

"Did he hurt you?" Mac asked her, actually sounding worried now.

She nodded fast. "Don'ts tell daddy please."

"I won't, I promise." Mac said, wrapping his arm protectively around her and actually was angry, because his uncle hurt Katrina, but he was going to keep his promise.

"He says he's sorrys, but he dose it again if I do wrong." She said sniffling.
