protecting his daughters (Stella, Haylen)

Thomas sat in his office looking at a photo of his family, a smile coming to his face, he loved his family and they knew it, apart from his faith, his family kept him going despite what he saw every day, he concentrated on the photo to the point that he did not hear the door to his office open

I had a file in my hand as I opened the door to Thomas' office, wanting to tell him the latest findings of the last case and maybe just make a little small talk, if possible. However he didn't notice that I was standing in the door and watching him as he was concentrated on a photo of his family. I knew he loved them very much and over the years I came to love them, too. A smile was on my lips as I watched him a few more seconds before I knocked on his door a little harder so he'd hear me and I wouldn't startle him.

Thomas looked over when he heard the knock, seeing Haylen standing there, "Hello lass" he said to her, "What have you got?" he asked, seeing the file that Haylen had in her hands

"Hello yourself." I greeted with a smile. "Got that report from Adam you needed." I said as I walked over to him and handed him the file, catching a glimps on the picture I knew so well. "Nice view to take a small break, huh?"

Thomas took the file, "Aye" he replied as he opened up the file and looked it over, "Sara can't wait to start at university in the fall and Colleen and Erin are becoming women." he added while looking at the file

"Well, they definitely grow up too fast." I said and giggled a little. "Good news on the case?"

Thomas nodded, then smiled, "The handwriting of our suspect is a match to the threatening note that was sent to our victim." he replied, at the same time his phone rang, Thomas picked it up, "Kelly" he answered

"Sounds like a prove that he did it." I said just before his phone rang and I noticed a slight change of expression on his face and give him a questioning, yet concerned look.

"What?, Shannon, slow down and start over." Thomas said to her, he was quiet for a few seconds, then sighed, "I'll be there soon" he said to her, hanging up after he said that, "Shannon and the kids were nearly carjacked." he said to Haylen as he stood up

"What?! How did that happen?" I asked a little shocked.

Thomas got up and got his coat, "I have a good idea" he said to Haylen as he put his coat on

"Need assitance?" I asked as I watched him get his coat on.

"I do" Thomas replied as he walked to the door of his office

"Let me get my coat." I said and hurried to the locker room, to get my cout out of it, as I didn't have my own office.

Thomas nodded, then headed to the elevators, waiting for Haylen and hoping that Shannon and the kids were alright

As soon as I got my coat I hurried back to the elevators.
"Okay, let's go." I said as I caught up to him.

Thomas nodded, then pressed the down button, thankfully, they did not have to wait long, Thomas got into the elevator car first and held the door for Haylen

I quickly step inside and then it goes down to the parking area of the crime lab and to his car.I was worried about Shannon and the girls and hoping they were okay. I knew Tom protected his family and I cared a lot about all of them.

once at the parking area, Thomas made his way over to his car, nothing else mattered to him at the moment

I quickly followed him, knowing that he wanted to get to his family. But I was curious about this and what he thought what happened.
"What are you thinking, Tom?" I asked him in a gentle tone as we were on the way to them.

"Just that i hope my family is okay." Thomas replied as he got into the car

"And beside that? You said you had an idea how this happened... any idea who did it?" I dared to ask him, knowing he was worried and I didn't want to upset him, but if I was going to help him clearing this up I needed to know at least a bit of what he had in mind.

after starting the car, Thomas replied to Haylen's question, "Shannon and I have been getting phone calls from a property manager telling us that we had to move out of our house, but would not give us a reason why. Then two days ago, he was outside Colleen and Erin's school, harassing Shannon as she was picking them up." he said to Haylen

"So you think it was him... to me this sounds like some foul game." I said, looking at him. Someone obviously wanted to harm them and that was feeding anger inside me, but I kept it back. For now.

"I do" Thomas replied as he drove to were Shannon and the girls were, they would get there minutes later, after parking, Thomas got out and ran to Shannon, hugging her, then the girls, Bridgett was the most shaken up
