New Orleans [Mac]

I walk past Mac's office and decide to go back and see Mac. I have to tell him someday. I knock on the door and walk in. "Mac, I have to talk to you.." I say a little uncomfortable.

I look up at Stella and notice that she seemed to be a little uncomfortable.
"What it is Stella?"

I say nothing at first than finally speak up. "I have a problem..." I sigh and sit down on the couch

I watch her closely as she sat down on the couch. This seemed to be bothering her pretty much. I walk over and sit down next to her.
"You know that you can tell me everything, right?"

"I know.." I sigh again "Mac New Orleans send me a job offer they want me to set up the lab there."

My world seemed to stop for a moment, but I didn't let that shine through.
"Want to take it?" I ask quietly.

"I don't know. I mean I've got my friends here but further than that there is nothing or no one who would stop me from going I think. And who knows maybe I meet someone there who I can't find here in New York." I remember the pj 'party' and how it ended.. I not getting the chance I want so much. "It always has been a dream to run my own lab but i don't know"

I feel my heart break at her words also remembering the PJs party and the end and how it seemed to be strained afterwards and I feel guilty now. Why haven't I told? Why have I been a coward?
"Well, it's a great opportunity, Stella, but..." I stop. awesome timing Taylor.

But.. It would probably mean I would loose him as best friend.. I know. But we all have to move on right?

I stay quiet and wait for Mac to finish

"Okay... guess my chance to keep you here is now gone..." I say in remorse.

"maybe, thats why I'm here Mac, I need your opinion" I say and look at you

"As your best friend I'm supposed to support you and telling you to go for it, but as your boss... I don't really want to let you go..." I say but don't dare to look up.

"As your boss?" I quietly repeat. Well I'd have liked hearing something else but I guess this is his way telling me not to leave, right?

"Well, the best friend doesn't want you to leave either." I admit in truth.

I smile and look at you "Than I'll stay here"

"Didn't think it was that easy to keep you here. But... I guess I should lock that coward inside away and..." I start but then stop, not sure if I should continue. "I'm sorry, Stella."

"I came here to ask you what to do, your opinion matters more than anything to me, so Don't say sorry" I smile

"Okay." I say. and maybe I'll get my second chance.

I smile and get up "I'm going to call them"

"Yes?" I look at you and wonder what you have to say

"I'm sorry about how our last meeting ended. I didn't mean to hurt you, but then didn't know you were expecting me to do... will you ever forgive me now?" I say somewhat nervous about your reaction, but then I knew I had to say it. I wanted that to be out of my mind, as it let me no peace. I wasn't even able to sleep or eat at time, which I am sure my best friend noticed by now.

"It was my fault Mac, It's ok" I force myself to smile "Well I better go back to work" I say while I walk to the door "please eat something will ya" I say knowing he probably didn't eat at all

"No, it wasn't. That was the normally not present coward in your best friend."I say and look up.
"Will you join me for lunch?" I dare to ask.

I turn around and look at you "Mac, stop worrying about it, it's ok and you're not a coward. I'd love to join you for Lunch"
