I need a hero. (Katrina/Mac)

"Did what? I ask not noticing what I did.

"That bruise below your eye. You whiped your make-up off it. Who did that?" I ask calmly, but concerned.

"It was um.... Just a little fight." I lie and look away.

"You know you can tell me, right? Because I hate the fact that you lie to me." say warmly.

I sigh. "Ok fine. Dad was drunk the other night and I keep bugging him and he meant to pop me on the mouth but I moved."

"I knew it." I said anger in my voice.

I finch hearing the anger in Mac's voice.

"Sorry. Not your fault, I know. Well, at least not yours alone." I said quietly, giving her and apologetic look.

I look down and shrug. "No big deal anymore."

"Not to you, but I feel bad for not being able to really help you."

"What is there to do Mac?" I ask still not looking at him

"You know that I hate men who beat their children, especially a young woman like you." I say firmly.

I sigh and nod still not looking at him I feel like I'm going to cry but I'm to strong for that. "I know, but I'm not your worry."

"You are, you're family. And your big cousin cares a lot about you." I say, get up and place my hand on her shoulder as I sit down next to her.

I shank my head. "You shouldn't have to." I say.

"Well yea, but you shouldn't have no worry about your uncle beating your cousin." I say and let a tear fall.

"That's true, because he shouldn't." I say and wrap my arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to me.

I cuddle to Mac and shrug. "I don't even feel it anymore." I lie.

"Okay, I get the point, but stop lying, okay?" I say quietly as I hold her close and give her some comfort.

I roll my eyes. "Fine no more lying."

"Much better." I say in a lighter tone and gently poke her side.

I giggle then slap his hand away from my side. "No pokey!"

I stop and then smile.
"Okay." I say warmly.

I smile and lay my head on his shoulder.
