first major case (Mac, Stella, Lindsay)

Sara was driving though downtown Manhattan on a bright New York spring afternoon. She had recently been cleared to ride solo by her Sargent, who was rather impressed with how quickly Sara learned the ropes. As she drove along, a call came in from the New York Marriott about a foul odor coming from a room on the 10th floor. "10-4, 12-Lima-33 is in route" Sara replied before heading over to the hotel. Once there, the manager informed Sara of what he was told. Sara nodded, then headed up to the room, radioing in her location and that she was heading up to the room. Seeing the door open, Sara got her gun out and slowly pushed the door open, "NYPD, anyone in here?" she called out. Sara fought through the smell as she made her way in. Once in front of the bed, she saw the source of the smell. "Control, 12-Lima-33, I need the MEs and CSI at the New York Marriott, room 1023." she said into her radio while holstering her gun at the same time

Mac was in his office when he got the call that CSIs were needed and went to get his kit and team. Once done he got to the SUV and made his way over to the crime scene. Once there he looked around for the officer who called it in, an officer he knew pretty well.

Sara was talking with the officer that was riding with her, sending her to the security office to get the tapes for this floor sent to crime lab, the officer nodded, then left, at the same time, Sara saw Mac and walked over to him, "Det. Taylor" she called out to him, hiding the smile on her face

Mac, a tiny smile on his face, walked over to Sara.
"Officer Kelly." he replied with a greeting nod. "What do we have here?"

Sara nodded back, "Guests were complaining of a foul odor coming from the room behind me and upon entering, Officer Hayes and myself discovered a dead body on the floor of the room." she replied

Mac frowned a little as he considered her reply. "When was the last time the cleaning staff went in to do their job?" he inquired, getting into a pair of gloves.

"Three days ago" Sara replied, "The manager recalled seeing a young man and woman check in, but didn't see them after that." she added

Mac's frown deepened. "Doesn't they usually clean the rooms every day? Why not this one?"

"The do not disturb sign was out." Sara replied

Mac nodded in reply, seeing it was still at the door's knob.
"No one has seen the woman either?" he asked. "Do we have names, yet?"

Sara shook her head, "Gabriela Klingman" she replied

Mac put it down in his mind as a name he needed to check on when he got back to the lab.
"Who's our victim?" he asked, walking into the room, camera in his hand.

"Gabriela" Sara replied

Mac frowned, looking around for any evidence on his way to the victim's body.

Sara watched Mac, then stepped outside the room, giving him space to work, she didn't know that Stella and Lindsay were heading up as well

Mac started to look around in the main room, taking pictures of everything that was out of order and of the crime scene in general.

after talking with her Sargent, Sara stood watch outside the room with Officer Hayes
