A Bow, an Arrow and a Girl? [Uncle Thomas]

"And so are you Lily" Thomas replied

"Thank you uncle Thomas." I said happily. "But I'm doing that for a year now."

"Your welcome and I see" Thomas replied

I smiled. "Some say it's not the kind of sport for a girl..."

"I can see why" Thomas replied

"Why?" I asked in wonder.

"Well, people don't associate the bow with ladies." Thomas replied

I giggled a little when he said that. "True." I said. "But it's a good training for concentration."

"That it is" Thomas replied, "As is target shooting with a rifle."

"Ma and dad say that's nothing for a little girl." I told him.

Thomas nodded, "Aye, doesn't meen I can't tell you about it."

"True. Ma and dad talk about that stuff, too." I said, looking at him. "Dad let me watch him once."

Thomas nodded, "What did you think?" he asked

"I don't know... not my type of weapon?" I said, looking at uncle Thomas with a shrug.

"Fare enough" Thomas replied, he then looked down the range again

"Another round?" I asked him, as I walked and got the arrows back.

"Sure" Thomas replied

I smiled and hand him his arrows back, keeping mine.

Thomas got his, "Ladies first this time" he said to Lily

I nodded and got ready.

Thomas stood back and watched

I was getting a little better, than I was before, hitting the center twice and twice almost. One arrow hit a bit too far away for my liking.

"Very good Lily" Thomas said to her

I smiled happily. "Thank you." I said and stepped aside so uncle Thomas could take his turn.

Thomas nodded, then took his turn
