Memories sometimes hurt [everyone]

Danny was at the grave yard in New York, standing in front of three graves named with Betty Reagan, Mary Reagan and Joe Reagan. He stopped by after coming from court, testifying against the Blue Templar guys.
He almost stared at the three graves, more at the last one. Joe.... Finally they brought justice to the guy who took his brother's life, though today and the following days of trial would be hard on Danny.
He hadn't been talking about to anyone and he also didn't notice that someone was walking up to him.

Shannon was at the graveyard paying her respects to an other fallen officer, as she left, she saw Danny and walked over to him, "Danny, you okay?" she asked gently, her voice low out of respect for were she was

Danny looked up and looked at Shannon then sighed.
"Yeah... just had a tough day in court... testifying against the Blue Templar. Too bad my brother's killer shot himself cowardly." Danny said in the same quiet tone, his voice sounding a little sad though.

Shannon nodded, "I see" she replied

Danny nodded a little, then crossed himself.
"Was hard to learn the truth about his death." he said quietly.

Shannon watched Danny when he said that, remembering how she felt when her father died, "Anything I can do for you?" she asked gently

Danny looked at her, not sure what to say. "Well, I doubt you can bring him back...." he replied. "Besides... Linda's been asking 'bout you."

Shannon nodded in reply, "No I can't" she replied, "What has she asked?"

Danny nodded a little at her first words.
"Uh... she's planning a little dinner party and was wondering if you and Thomas may want to come."

Shannon nodded, "Of course we will come, you guys are family." she replied, smiling a bit while fingering the rosary she had in her hand

"She'll be thrilled to hear that. I'll make sure she calls you." Danny said, trying a small smile.
"You know..." Danny changed the subject once again. "Thinkin' 'bout ma brother and why he had to die... just hurts. Gets me pissed off as well."

Shannon nodded, "Thats understandable Danny" she said to him in a comforting tone

Danny nodded slightly, actually not being a man to show emotions like that obvious for others, but Shannon was someone he trusted and he knew she wouldn't think him weak.
"Thanks, Shannon." he said quietly.

"Your welcome" Shannon replied, she could hear the pain in Danny's voice, knowing full well that he didn't let it show all the time

Danny looked at the gravesides once again and then turned away.
"I should get back, before I'm reported missin'." he smirked a little.

Shannon smirked as well, "I'll see you around Danny" she replied

Danny nodded and then walked down the path to the entrance with her.

as she walked, Shannon put her rosary back around her neck

Danny smiled a little. He admired Shannon's strength and faith.

Shannon walked back to the car and sat in the driver's seat, thinking a bit before driving off

Danny got to his car and drove back home to his family, being greeted by his sons and wife.

Shannon soon got back home and met up with her family

A few days days later at Danny and Linda's home....

Linda was getting things ready for the little dinner party she planned. So far the Reagan family was going to be there and the Kelly's were coming. Jack and Sean were hoping that they'd bring the girls, especially the twins, hoping they could play with them after dinner.

Thomas, Shannon and their kids soon arrived, upon reaching the door, Thomas rang the bell

Jack and Sean both raced to the door, but waited for their dad to open it, just like they learned. Danny walked up to them and opened the door. Greeting the Kelly family with a smile as he let them inside, just as Jamie and their sister Erin along with her daughter Nikki walked up behind Thomas and his family.
