Don't mess with Star! (Mac)

I gently lay my hand on the small girls head and glance at Katrina, while I set a manhaunt for that guy.

Star looked over and reached over to Mac. Katrina looked at Mac.

I look at Katrina and shrug.

Katrina handed Star to Mac, She love him so much. Star burred her head in his neck

I held her close and comforted her.

Katrina was a bit hurt that Star wanted Mac and not her.

I noticed an´d somehow felt bad for that, but what do you do?
"Want me to take you two home, or do you want to stay at my place?" I asked Katrina, knowing that I had to catch a criminal and actually wanted Katrina to stay at a familiar place for Star.

Star held him. "Yours Mac pleases." Star said. Katrina nodded.

"Okay, but you gotta go back to your mommy, for a bit." I said to Star in a gentle tone. "I have to get things done here before we can leave."

Star nodded.
Kat took Star and bounced her.

I walked out the apartment and called for someone to examine it for any traces. And while waiting for someone to arrive, I put the police tape cross the door and wait at my car with Katrina and Star.
This time Haylen was examining the area and as soon as she was there, I took Katrina and Star to my place.

Once at Mac's Katrina got Star's little puppy she named Princess

I stayed with them for a bit and then walk up to Katrina.
"I'll be going back to the lab and see what Haylen found. She said she may have a hint where he was heading. I'll call you. It may sound paranoid... but if someone comes here, do not open, unless it's me, okay?" I said to her, quietly.

Kat nodded not looking at him. Her eyes were filled with tears and she didn't want him to see.

I noticed something wasn't quite right, but I didn't want to push her.
"You call me when you need me." I said and turned to leave-

"Mac." She said weakly and looked up at him.

I turned around and looked at her.
"What is it?" I asked gently, actually wanting to stay right now.

Katrina wrapped her arms around him and held tightly.

I held her close, gently rubbing her back.
"Want me to stay?"

Kat shook her head. "No its ok."

I nodded in reply.

Star ran in and looked at them.

I pulled away a little and got down to her level.
"Hey big girl." I said, picking her up and looked at her.

Katrina turned and wiped her eyes.

Star smiled and looked at Kat. "What wrongs with Mommy?"

"She was worried about you today, sweetie." I replied to her question.
