Why does this always happen? (Mac/Katrina)

"Okay, how much older?" I ask, trying to not picture that scene in my mind if it was my daughter.

He's eighteen." I say in a low whisper not daring to look at you.

"And you are 14 right? I think that'll be okay... I'd be worried if he was 20. I mean, I was at your age at times, and also at his, and trust me, my 'girlfriends' weren't always my age." I told her, thinking back to when I was a kid. Though I never was into that one night stand thing, but still my girlfriends were younger than me.

I nodded. "Well thats settled. have a good day." I say trying to leave knew you want me to go to the doctor.

"Uh-uh, no way you're leaving and you know that." I said firmly, mentioning I wasn't going to discuss this with her.

I try the pouty lip that would work some times with you.

"Nice face." I said and smiled a bit. "Let's make a deal... you let me get you to the hospital and be checked over and after that I take you out for dinner." I suggested.

I pout more. "I hate doctors all they want to do is push meds down ya."

"You and I are alike in a lot of things, but even I have to go and see a doc at times. You'll be okay. But you should at least get your ribs checked." I said gently. "About taking meds... that's another story."

I sigh giving in. "Fine, but you suck." I say in a teasing tone. This was not going to be fun, but I made up my mind I'm not telling the Doctor anything.

"I know." I said but smiled and then got back into my shoes and grabbed my jacket to leave.

I mumble grabbing my jacket and following Mac.

Okay, Uncle Mac sucks, I know, but actually I just care about my little cousin. So I get her to hospital to let her being checken, respectfully waiting outside the room.

I walk out of the room after getting checked out I just hope uncle Mac don't talk to the doctor he'll not be to happy with me, I look at Mac. "Nothin' is broken." I se the doctor walk out to over to Mac.

"Glad to hear that." I say to Katrina, wanting to believe her words, though the doctor walks over to me and I am wondering what he wants to tell me and if I even want to know that. At least she's just my cousin, maybe I should spare her that.

I glare at the doctor then walk outside to wait for Mac.

"I don't think her ribs are broken, but she wouldn't tell me if it hurt and she said no to X-rays. Thats all she would say to me." The doctor says.

I look at Katrina with a questioning glance.
"I guess she has her reasons, thank you." I said to the doctor.

The doctor nodded and walked to his office.
I wait for uncle Mac and see a guy I know he's drinking something in a coke bottle but its not coke I grab it and take a big slip.

Okay, now I am speechless and give Katrina a slightly angry look.

I don't notice Mac behind me and take another slip of the drink which is rum and coke Yummy! Then I give the guy a fast kiss. Yes the guy is alot older then me, but I really don't care.

"You mind telling me what that was supposed to mean?" I ask Katrina, a bit upset, but not really angry.

I turn and look at him. "whats what supposed to mean?" I ask not knowing he seen.

"I meant what you just did with that guy and drinking whatever was in that bottle of his?" I ask again firmly.

I just roll my eyes. "Its was only coke and I did nothing with him." I say looking at Mac and can smell the rum on my own breathe.

"You don't expect me to believe that, do you?" I ask her, seriously. I was a little upset, but this wasn't the place nor the time to get mad at her or scold her.
