She looked away and pulled her knees to her chest. "Its not your fault you didn't know I just need a a minute."

Thomas nodded slowly, "I'll be inside if you need me." he said to Katrina before leaving

"You don't have to go." Katrina said before he walked in.

Thomas looked at her, "You sure?" he asked

"Yeah." She looked at him.

Thomas nodded, then sat next to Katrina, "Do you want to tell me all that your father did?"he asked gently

She shook her head and got closer to him.

Thomas nodded, then put his arm around Katrina

She cuddled to him. "Thanks for staying."

"Your welcome" Thomas replied

She smiled laying her head on him.

Thomas smiled a bit, seeing Katrina's tough girl shell break away

She looked up at him. "What are you smiling for?" She asked with a smile of her own.

"We've never had time like this before." Thomas replied

She smiled and snuggled to him almost sitting in his lap. "Thats true. Its nice I like it."

Thomas smiled and nodded as he held Katrina

Kat looked up at him. "So what do you think of Star?"

"She's a smart lass" Thomas replied, "Like you" he added

Kat shook her head. "She's nothing like me and I want to keep it that way."

"Katrina, your a smart woman" Thomas said to her

Inside I was a little worried about Katrina, but knowing why she left and the fact that Thomas had gone to see her was putting my mind at ease. They'd be fine I knew that.
So I looked back at Star and smiled.
"So... our little princess turns three tomorrow. Am I invited?" I ask the little girl in a curious tone.

back inside, Sniper was laying on the floor between Mac and Star

Katrina shook her head. "I've messed up and done so many stupid things."
Star smiled at Mac and nodded. "Yeps."

I smiled at Star and gently petted Sniper's head.
"I'm glad to hear that." I said to her.

Sniper wagged his tail, "Your not the only one to have done stupid things Katrina." Thomas said to her
