Mary Poppins [Haydee]

I was very happy when Stella asked me if I'd like to go out with her on some evening. We hadn't had many chances to do things together. Usually there were Ryan and Mac with us. So… our very own girls-night-out sounded great. I really needed break from the studies and Stella had the perfect motivator for that. She got tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. I was so excited. I had never been on Broadway show before. I just didn’t have time and I couldn’t wait the evening come faster.
I hadn’t been waiting Stella by the entrance of the Amsterdam theatre for long. I saw her coming closer holding the tickets. I still couldn’t believe it. I had dreamed about seeing a show for a long time.
“Hi,” I cheered and gave her a hug. “Thanks for inviting me Stella. I really needed the break. Otherwise I would've studied whole night and I need to keep my thoughts away from the test tomorrow.”

I walk up to the theatre and see Haydee (: I give her a quick hug and i look at the entrance. it's not busy yet, guess we are way too early. I prefer being too early than being too late.

"It's my pleasure, I just thought you might wanted something else than learning all night and you deserve it, you work so hard for collage"

"I HAVE worked hard. Don't want to dissapoint mom and grandma and grandma and you neither."
Although I'm still little bit worried about the test tomorrow I know i'll do great. I try to push the thought in the back of my mind and ask if we should go in?
"Would you like to have a coffee before we'll go a and find our seats? We have like 30 minutes."

I feel my cheeks turning hot under Stella's praises but i have to admit it was great. we walk inside and I'm impressed. The house is gorgeous. Everything look like from 1800s. All the paintings on the walls and even in ceilings. It took my breath away.
"Have you been in this theater before? It's amazing. It's beautiful. And look at that picture... oh and that one." I kept talking and talking and probably drove Stella crazy with my questions but I hadn't seen something so beautiful before. "We gotta do this more often!!"

we walk inside and Haydee starts about the artwork, she's right it's beautiful everytime I come her I can stop looking around. "yeaah it's very pretty in here and yes we really have to do this more often!"

I order our coffee and look around again, this place is just great. I pay the coffee and give one to Haydee "here you are" *smiles*

I kept blabbering on and on and didn't notice that Stella had ordered coffee for us.
"Ohh, thank you," i take the cup from Stella and we head to take a seat in the lounge.
"How often do you have a chance to go to theater?" I ask Stella.

we head to the lounge and sit down "whenever I want to, it's not like I need permission or something, I'll just find someone to come with me" I smile and take a little sip of my coffee, obviously it's still hot and luckily I didn't burn my tongue.

I let out a small chuckle and take a sip of my coffee. Actually I'm not big coffee fan, especially so late in the evening but maybe i can take a look of some questions when I get back home.
"Well... I'm always free if you don't have anyone else to take with you. I love theater." I reply with a smile. "Once I even thought about becoming an actress but that stage passed quite quickly. Becoming a doctor seemed lot more interesting so I sticked to that plan."
"Have you always wanted to become a cop?"

"I'll keep that in mind" I smile and listen to the other things she's saying.

"Actually no, when I was younger I wanted to be a professional dancer, But I chanced so often from foster home to foster home and not all of them wanted to pay for my dancing lessons that it was impossible to become a dancer on a professional level and I was only 13 so I couldn't pay it myself"

"Aaww.. I'm sorry to hear that, but you know... I'm glad you became a cop. Otherwise we woukd have not ever met." I reply with weak smile. The way we met still makes me sad. These days were hard on me. When I woke up in hospital and couldn't remember what had happened to me and later found out that my best friend was gone for good. I still miss Mackenzie terribly but I force these memories aside and try to smile. I hope she didn't see my misery through this fake smile.

I notice Stella checking the time and hurry to finish my coffee.
"I'm almost done with my coffee," I say fast to enlighten the conversation again. It's not the right time to be sad and to start thinking about all the "what ifs" running through my mind. Tonight's going to be filled with music and laughter.
"Are you done with your coffee? I think we should go and find our seats." I add quickly. "I'm soo excited I just wait any longer."

"Oh wooww. It's beautiful in here. Can I take few pics of the hall?"
I ask Stella quietly when we have taken a seat and wait for the play to start. I see other people taken pictures but just want to be sure before i continue with my actions.

I'm glad Stella says it's okay for taking pictures. I haven't seen theatre like that before so few snapshots would be great.






I finish and sit back down on my seat. The bell announcing the start of the show. The stage light up and we see beautifully decorated stage

The show is awesome. It takes my breath away and the constant smiling hurts my cheeks.
"Stella, she's looking right at us," I say almost out of breath when the show comes to an end and Mary flies above us.

"Now, I deffinately would've loved to become an actress as well. I loved every single moment of it. Thanks for taking me." I say eagerly and give Stella a hug. "And these kids... they were amazing. Great singers"
