Worry [ Bri/Mark ]

Kaya had been walking home from work when she was attacked in an alley and a bystander called paramedics to the scene and Kaya was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Dr.Shepherd was treating Kaya when she wondered which sic person could hurt her like this.

Mark had no idea what had happened to Kaya, but once he found out, he rushed to be by her side and he realised how he felt about her.

Will Kaya pull through?

Dr. Shepherd was working in the E.R when a girl got rushed in with some injuries. Bri rushed off hurrying Kara off to a bed and looked at the paramedics "What happened?" She asked and checked the girls heart and her pupils to see if they were dilated or not.

One of the paramedics replied " She's been attacked and her pulse at the scene was weak."

Bri glared at the paramedic that spoke. Attacked by what? Damn it!" She said angrily she had to know the details. All of them.

The paramedic then said " She was attacked by an unknown perp who left her to die."

Mark had been trying to enhance some video from an earlier case when he had been distracted by Mac's call to him and he had immediatley stopped his work to go over and see Kaya.

"Perp's an understatement!"retorted Mark with a glance at the paramedic.He could almost feel the doctor's anger and impatience,it was rather obvious she didn't have time for this 'leasurily' chit chat.He himself was a little worried,ok 'little',waaayy to big of an understatement,"Is she going to make it?"the question slipped out before Mark could help himself from not speaking and his worried gaze shifted to the doctor.

One of the other doctors replied " Too early to tell as she suffered a blow to her skull and her chest."

Kaya hadn't came around yet and her injuries were so bad when Mark was allowed to see her.

Mark didn't reply,that didn't help relax him at all!When he was allowed to see her he waited in Kaya's room and he had been lost in thought when his phone went off and he instictivley reached for his gun as he snapped out of his thoughts and he suddenly realized it was Don calling him."Hello?"he answered,the worry in Don's voice made Mark glance away."No,I haven't gotten any news from the doctors.""Yeah,come on over,room 298."

Kaya as on a breathing machine and she looked so pale.

Don arrived a short time later and he gasped when he saw his cousin lying there.

Mark could only look helplessly over at Don,unsure of what to say to comfort him when the words would not even comfort himself.

Don just watched as his cousin fought for her life and he didn't want to lose her.

Finally Mark conjured up the only words he could think of."I'm sorry Don."he glanced over at him with worry and greif shining in his eyes.

Don nodded then replied " We'll find the sick S.O.B who did this to her." as he held her hand and begged her to survive

Mark nodded."That's an understatement."Mark told him,this dude was not the kind that he enjoyed working with.Then again,none of them did.

Don shrugged when Kaya gripped is hand

Mark sighed,what was he supposed to do?Worry made him glance away and a frown crossed his face at the thought of what kind of jerk would do something like this.

Don realised who did this and said " That slimeball Dante did this."

Mark glanced over at Don."Dante?"the detective had his attention,"Who's that?"Mark asked him,confusion crossing his face as he tried to remeber which case that was.

Dpn then said " Dante is Kaya's abusive ex boyfriend and he used to abuse her so much and she told me that he shot her in the foot and kept doing nasty things to her. It wasn't a case as I delt with it."

Mark shook his head,"Nor did I."Mark replied.He pulled his phone out and flipped through his contacts to find Mac's number,"Did we ever get the case with Kaya's boyfriend,Dante?"he sent a quick text,they needed to know more if they were going to catch this "Slimeball."

Mac got the text and replied " Don told me about it and he had a TRO but seems he broke it."

Kaya's eyes flickered

"Your preaching to the choir now,Mac.Do we have a last known adress?"

Mark wasn't going to give up on this easy,and it was obvious to see that Dante had violated the TRO."Mac says that Kaya had a TRO for this guy."he reported,although he figured Don already knew that.

Mac sent over the address.

" I helped her get the TRO and she stayed at mine to recover and she had an op laster to remove the pins from her foot and he is a nasty piece of work and she was scared for her life." Don admitted

Mark frowned more at the news and history of Dante.He glanced down at the adress and handed his phone to Don for him to see the adress."That's his last known adress."

Don got up and said " I'm going over there and you keep an eye on Kaya for me."
