Las Vegas had been home to Sara Sidle for quite some time but to those who knew her, thought they knew her so well but in fact they didn't as Sara was hiding a deep dark secret which had been kept locked away for so many years.
I hear the ticking of the clock
I'm lying here the room's pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Ohh, I hope that it won't end though
AloneAs she thought about telling someone, she knew that the only person she could confess this secret was to Grissom, who Sara loved with all her heart and she never liked to admit her feelings but she knew that she could entrust Grissom with this.
Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the boneSara thought about her past and how she had kept it to herself, as she had to but now it was becoming impossible to keep her actions in check as she'd got angry with both Conrad and Catherine the day before.

and I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
and my love for you is still unknownGil worried about her, so he went to see her and he hoped to find out why she flew off the handle like she had but would Gil be able to accept what Sara might reveal to him?

ohh yea, yeaGil knocked on Sara's apartment door and waited, Sara opened the door to find Gil there and asked " What uh are you doing here?" to which Gil replied " I wanted to find out what happened at the lab and why.".
Till now, I always got by on my own,
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the boneSara sighed then said " I don't want to talk about it." when Gil replied " You might not want to, but I need to know Sara.", as Sara sat on her couch and folded her arms across her chest.

How do I get you aloneGil watched her and he didn't know what to expect from her or what secret she was hiding from him but she sighed softly then said " I never told you this but....." as Gil replied " Told me what Sara?.

Sara sighed then admitted " I never told you about my past and how my life was always filled with rows and abuse. I used to think trips to the hospital were normal everyday things but now I know it wasn't.".

" My father was abusive towards me and my Mom and one day she couldn't take it anymore and she killed my father." Sara said as she tried not to let her emotions get the better of her but they did.

Ohh, I hope that it won't end thoughGil pulled Sara into his arms and soothed her as she cried in his arms and now Gil knew why Sara reacted in the way she did and he tells her " None of it was your fault.".

and I was going to tell you tonightSara knew that Gil was right and she replied " Promise me that you won't tell anyone." and Gil replied " I promise.".
Ohh, I hope that it won't end though
AloneGil knew that he wanted to tell her something that he'd wanted to tell her for some time now and there was always the thoughts niggling away that she might not feel the same way but he had to try right?

And now it chills me to the boneSara had stopped crying and Gil admited " I love you Sara.", only for Sara to reply " I love you too Gil." which made Gil glad that Sara loved him too, as he held her closer to him knowing that they both felt the same about each other.
