Seeing the Lab (Mac, Anyone)

I looked up at the skyscraper that stood before me, looking like a sentinel that guarded the entrance into the world I was desperately trying to become a part of. I shook my head. Wow. Had that thought really just happened?
"I've been writing for too long," I muttered to myself. Two days ago, I had gotten permission from my cousin, Mac Taylor, to visit him at the lab where he worked, the lab that I knew was somewhere above me. I couldn't wait. It wasn't three yet, but I couldn't wait any more, so I boldly went through the doors and walked up to the reception desk. after filling out a visitor's pass, I was escorted up to the Crime Lab.

Shannon was walking through the lab to her office when she heard the elevator ding and the door's open, she looked over and saw a young woman with an officer get off, Shannon didn't know who the woman was, she turned and walked over to her, "Hello, can I help you?" she asked when close enough

I cleared my throat. "Um, hi," I said. "I'm Brii Taylor, Mac Taylor's cousin? He said he'd show me the lab today?" I cringed at my up-talking. It happened when I was nervous. I looked around the lab, taking it in. It was so big, much bigger than the labs at my school. It was busy, too, swarming with people. I didn't see Mac, though. Was he not here?

Meanwhile Mac was in his office, talking to Sinclair on the phone. Much to his surprise, it was a normal conversation about some additions to the lab, they got approved.

I looked around and thought I spotted him sitting in an office, on the phone. "Is that him?" I asked, pointing.

Shannon nodded as she listened to the young woman, then looked behind her, "Yes that is him" she replied

I smiled. "Thanks," I said. I turned to the uniformed officer escorting me. "That's him," I said. He said nothing, but gave me a sarcastic look that indicated he would had loved to. He walked along with me silently as I made my way to the door. I knocked gently; his back was to me.

Hearing the knock on the door, I turned around. Seeing Brii, I waved her in, before quickly finishing my call with Sinclair and then greeted my cousin.

Shannon watched, then got back to her business

The uniformed officer left when Mac waved me in. I stepped into his office and waited for him to end his phone call. When he turned to me, I smiled. "Hey, Mac," I said while I looked around the office. It was neat but busy, lots of paperwork sitting on his desk.
"What's up?"

"Well, for today not much, but got some good news from my boss." I replied. "And you?"

"Good, good," I said. "I'm passing all my classes, and I might be getting a job soon."

"That's great." I replied, smiling a little. "Though... I may have a job for you here, if it doesn't work out."

My eyes widened, and it was all I could do to keep my mouth from dropping all the way to the ground floor. "Are--are you serious?" I asked in a hushed voice. "That would be great!"

I nodded in reply and smiled a little.
"Sure. It's what you want to do, gives you extra experience." I replied seriously.

I remembered myself and tried to control my sudden excitement. I cleared my throat. "Thank you so much, Mac," I said, trying not to sound like a kid who was just told they'd be going to Disneyland. "It would be an honor to work here, even just as an intern." I knew my eyes were shining as i considered the prospect of working here, here, in the New York Crime Lab, alongside my favorite cousin. "Thank you," I said again.

I saw her eyes shining and it made me happy knowing that she was more than excited that offered that to her.
"You're more than welcome. Want a tour?" I said.

"Well, yeah, that's what I came here for, isn't it?" I asked cheerfully. "I'd love a tour."

I chuckled a little, then put my suit jacket over my chair and walked around the desk and held the door for Brii.

I let him hold the door open for me as we walked out of his office, even though I was just inside the door. I was too busy trying to make it appear like I was a sensible 21 year old, and not a hyperactive kid in a candy store. "So what are we gonna see first?" I asked casually.

I walked out of the office, letting the door close behind us. I walked down into the direction of the Trace analysis lab.
"I thought about trace, showing you some stuff in the lab and then visit Adam's realm: the A/V lab." I told her.

I smiled. "You're the boss," I said with a grin.

I smirked a little.
"That I am." I said and then lead her to the lab.

"Uh, who's Adam?" I asked as I realized something he said earlier.

"Adam Ross. Our lab tech and computer genius. I told her, thinking about one of my best men.
