Cole was at the hospital with a team of CTU Agents, a group of terrorist had just taken control of the hospital, they where wearing explosive vest ready to detonate if they saw anyone enter, CTU had also called in a specialist, a former CTU agent by the name of Jack Bauer, Cole had worked with him before, Cole was now waiting for Jack to arrive. NYPD was already on the scene way before them so Cole started to walk toward one of the officers.

I was called by CTU to assist them in a terrorist crisis, getting on a CTU SUV I was driven to the hospital and once I got off I saw Cole, then I waited for someone to breif me of the situation.

Henry saw Cole coming and knew what was coming so he said "28 terrorist inside and 58 patients 29 doctors."

Eric was a doctor in the hhospital when the attack happened, they found his gun before he had the chance to use it and now he was helpless.
