The driver opened the door for them. I got out and Zac got out.

I was a little late for my favorite's cousin's birthday due to a case that kept me busy longer than expected and a suprising call from Katrina's mother, asking if I heard something from her. All I told was that she was fine. As I walk up to them, an envelope and a small gift in my hand I smiled a little, seeing them all sitting together like a real family.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." I said.

I smile at Mac and stand to give him a hug and kiss on the cheek.
Zac shook his hand. "Nice to see you again sir."

I hug my girl and kiss her cheek.
"Happy Birthday sweetie." I said to her. "You really look great tonight.""Nice to see you, too Zac." I said to her boyfriend, a really nice guy.
I also greeted the rest of group and hand my small present to Katrina, which consisted of her favorite parfume and a gift certificate for her favortite shop.
