It was only a joke. (Mac and anyone)

"That didn't even cross my mind." I said and turned heading for the door.

"Damn someone needs to get laid." I shot out at him.

I turned and looked at her.
"Pardon?"

"you heard me. May if you had some sex you wouldn't be so uptight." I say still glaring.

I just shook my head and left the room, for now it made no sense to discuss this with her. Well, maybe it was just that stupid case I tried to close, but the guy was always a step ahead of us. I admit that was frustrating. Actually she was just making fun, but right now I couldn't really change it.

Haylen glanced at Nikki.
"I think he's just having a bad day, because of that case." she said quietly.

I laugh a little. "Yea, but I push."

I giggled a little.
"But you were right, Nikki, his face was priceless." I said. "Maybe you should stop by later and apologize...."

I look at her and sigh. "Fine, but the sex joke was funny as hell." I state with a smile.

"Depends on who you're telling it. Honestly I don't wanna know about my boss' sex life." I said with a smirk.

I giggle and nodded.

I was back in my office, "fighting" with my paperwork and that stupid case. But Nikki's words, that were actually said as a joke still hunt me and that is driving me crazy.

I glance in to Mac and sigh knowing it was bugging me so I roll my eyes and Knock on his door.

Hearing the knock I looked up, seeing Nikki I wasn't sure what to think now, so I just mention for her to come in.

I walk in putting on the whole sorry little girl face. "Mr. Taylor?"

"Yes?" I asked, looking at her. Now I was getting that bad feeling back.

I bite my lip trying to look sorry. "I'm sorry about the prank and joke. I didn't mean to make you mad."

I looked at her and sighed a little.
"It's okay. I'm sorry I got that mad about it." I replied.

"I don't blame ya. Most people would have thrown me through the window." I joked

I smirked a little when she said that.
"Well, I don't hurt children and I don't hurt women. You were lucky I guess." I reply in a lighter tone.

Hearing that make me frown a little. "Good thing to hear. Not all men care about hurting women."

I nodded in agreement.
"My job to take 'em away. If they aren't just always a step ahead." I said, with a hint of frustration in my voice.

I nod. "Wish I would have known you a few years ago."

I looked up in surprise.
"Why is that?"

"Stepdad used to smack my mother and I around." I say shrugging like its no big deal.

I frowned a little. "Well, then I guess it's a good thing you are here now." I said to her.
